    Prerna Arora

    Dr. Prerna Arora is a psychologist licensed in New York and New Jersey. She specializes in the delivery of evidence-based treatments for children and families. Dr. Arora has expertise in the treatment of depressive disorders and other mood disorders; anxiety disorders, including social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, panic disorders and OCD; and behavioral disorders, including ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. In addition to treating children and families, Dr. Arora also consults with schools and primary care professionals regarding their mental health practices.

    Dr. Arora obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, where she obtained extensive training in cognitive-behavioral therapy with children and families. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and her postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Arora is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University where she teaches graduate students in child clinical and school psychology. Dr. Arora has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles, 10 chapters, and two treatment manuals related to topics including treatment of depression and anxiety in youth, school mental health, and culturally-tailored treatments.
